Clay photoshoot from his new album, A Thousand Different Ways. Out September

Mostly for the rest of the Chiang Mai trip, we all took turns to try the teaching, building, cooking, leading worship and ice breakers. On the final night, we held a party and invited students from the school and around the village to join us. There we did our usual worship, ice breakers and presented a mime (Hands) and danced This Little Light. There were a lot of salvations from the alter call. Hopefully these kids will grow up to be men and women of God. On the final morning that we were in the village, we organised a telematch at the school. It was done no-NG style. We then went to Pastor Luke’s orphanage, which is an all-girls orphanage. Just spend about 2 hours there, singing and playing with the kids. We then hit the night bazaar. Came back with a pair of slippers, a skirt which I’ll probably never wear, and souvenirs for colleagues. Calvin is an excellent bargainer, helped Elaine and I get pretty good deals.
The next morning we hit Airport Plaza (more shopping!!) Cal joined Elaine and I shopping again. He’s a good shopping companion. We had to have some help ordering lunch, cos the stall holders didn’t really understand us. The shopping center is huge, and we didn’t have a whole lot of time. Just got one tank top. We then went back to Cafe 9:16 and joined in the house church that meets there. Had a good time of prayer with our Thai counterparts. Did some last minute souvenir shopping with Uncle Allan, Auntie Angie and Paul. Then it was off to the airport and back to Singapore. Was glad to see the Cambodia team at the airport. Their flight arrived just before ours. Ours was supposed to be 50 minutes behind them, but we arrived ahead of schedule. Went home and crashed and had to drag myself to work the next day.
This weekend I went to watch Batman Begins with Kak. This is Batman the way it should be! In the movie, one central theme that stood out to me was fear. Fear is a great motivator. It can make you do things you’d never do if you were thinking rationally. You can manipulate someone by playing on their fears. I’m glad that God’s word says we have not recieved a spirit that makes us a slave again to fear, but a spirit of Sonship. (Romans 8:15). Christian Bale makes a fantastic Batman. He’s good looking enough, but also dark like heck. Direcow was right about the batvoice. Whoa. Kak and I just revelled in the sei-ness of it all. You can’t go wrong with Liam Neeson and Ken Watanabe too.
Apologies to ppl who have found their comments on my blog deleted. I keep getting hit by comment spammers (curses!), so I have to mass edit to delete all the spam comments. Sometimes if I’m deleting too fast or I’m not careful, some real comments get deleted together also. Grrr.
